Main St. Harvest, aptly located on Main St. in Downtown Mesa, Arizona, brings the Mesa community closer to the city's local farmers. There are so many offerings within Main St. Harvest that are all produced in Arizona. These offerings include items like milk from the local dairy, meat from the local cattle ranch, and sourdough bread that is baked fresh in Proof Bread, the bakery next door. There are even locally produced plant-based soaps, detergents, and shampoos/conditioners for purchase.
Emily Glaser is the head clerk at Main St. Harvest and is also in charge of consignment vendors bringing in their products.
Glaser says “Main St. Harvest is a grocer that is doing something others won’t. We work with local farmers, creators, and other small businesses to bring in local products and locally grown, fresh food for the community to enjoy. That feels great! I feel like I am doing something positive for the community!”
Main St. Harvest is doing positive things for the community for sure! A great way Main St. Harvest takes care of the community is by participating in the state’s EBT “Double-Up” Program. This program allows those receiving EBT SNAP benefits to essentially double their dollar on fresh foods when shopping at local grocers. They have also worked with their sister company Proof Bread to take in donations for Bakehouse, a Ukrainian bakery currently operating out of war-torn Kyiv. Main St. Harvest also sets itself apart from larger corporate grocers by taking in small businesses and local creators; giving them a platform to showcase and sell their products within their own community.
With over 200 different vendors being represented at Main St. Harvest there is always something for everyone that comes in. Support small businesses and local farmers next time you’re in Mesa, Arizona by popping into Main St. Harvest.
