Myke’s: Downtown Mesa’s Pizzeria

Myke’s Pizza is located inside Cider Corps just off Main St. at 31 S. Robson St. #103 in Downtown Mesa, Arizona. Myke’s is Downtown Mesa’s sole brick-and-mortar pizzeria showcasing amazing wood-fired, brick oven pizza. Starting as a pop-up, Myke took to the streets with his pizza. Once Mesa had a taste for Myke’s it was time to set up shop. In collaboration with Cider Corps., Myke’s Pizza was opened inside of the brewery.

Myke Olsen found a passion for pizza through the dough. Before starting Myke’s Pizza, Myke worked at Mesa’s local sourdough bakery, Proof Bread.

Rich Stumpf, the GM at Myke’s who has been with Myke since the beginning says that “Myke started in accounting and really likes numbers and formulas”.

Making pizza dough is definitely a formula when it’s a Neapolitan Style dough from scratch. In the dough are various types of flour that are then hand-tossed and thrown into that wood-fired, brick pizza oven that does something to the crust’s texture and flavor one can only experience for oneself.

Pizza is something very communal and usually does a great job of bringing people together. Myke’s shows that sense of community in all the pizzas they put out by trying to showcase as many local ingredients as they can. The current special does this well.

Myke is originally from Utah. Being that Utah Peaches are in season a Utah Peach pizza was created! This amazing pie is topped with locally grown Utah Peaches, crushed pistachios, and freshly grated parmesan. All this sitting on top of a melty bed of Smoked Gouda, and fresh Mozzarella.

13% of Americans ages 2 years and older consume at least a slice of pizza every day. It can be said that pizza is very popular with most consumers. It could also be said that someone is trying to order a hot pizza right now. So, when you get that hankering for good pizza, make Myke’s your next stop! You’ll be glad you popped in!
