This “Mesa Minute” Podcast was a very special episode! After living in Mesa for five years, th
is episode focuses on topics that are going to be useful to anyone looking to move to or visit Mesa, Arizona.
The topics of this episode start with the climate of Mesa which applies to most of Southern Arizona. The Summer and most of the year for that matter are very dry. Then June brings in a lot of humidity with Arizona’s monsoon season. Many people say of Arizona that “it’s a dry heat” and that is not always true. One thing is for certain, it gets exceptionally hot.
Food is another topic that we all can enjoy. There are so many spots on the Main St. strip to eat. Most of these amazing eateries also second as breweries, serving up the best local brews. The exciting thing is that every place has something very unique about it and a completely different menu with many different flavors.
Special Guest Emily says that her favorite spot to dine is “Que Chevére” a local Venezuelan restaurant in Downtown Mesa, located on Main St.
Mesa, Arizona is also very diverse. It’s very rich in Native American and Hispanic Cultures. You can see this in the architecture, food, local art, and wildlife. Everything from lizards both big and small, to desert tortoises, javelina, and desert monkeys. Well, they’re not technically primates, they’re closer to a raccoon but they look closer to a lemur. Most Arizonans refer to them as desert monkeys. The proper name for them is Coatimundi or Coati for short. Emily says that these Arizona creatures are her favorite animal native to Arizona.
There is so much to discuss when it comes to the ever changing community of Mesa, Arizona. Stay up to date on all that’s coming on the “Mesa Minute”
